Comparing seats at Saitama Stadium 2002

Compare pitch distance, sideline and behind-goal views, and crowd sounds in A/B. Views may vary with stadium equipment and event arrangements. The numbers in each section name are the seat-number range on the official drawing. Rows and numbers inside a section are examples and may differ from your ticket. Press seats, wheelchair spaces and sky boxes are not modelled.

Guide to seats, scores and sound

Cheering sections at Saitama Stadium 2002

The Urawa Red Diamonds' official ticket guide puts the home free seats behind both goals, describing the north end as the area for passionate support (hottest between gates 209 and 210) and the south end as family, seated support; its official seat map marks the west part of the south stand as visitor free seats and the south end of the main upper tier as visitor reserved seats. The home cheering zone is the whole north stand, anchored on the rear blocks between gates 209 and 210. The home free seats in the east of the south stand (family, seated) are not part of the cheering zone. The visitor boundary is transferred from a schematic seat map, may be one block off and can change from match to match. Choose “Cheering” as the seat preference to rank seats near these zones first; the crowd sound in the audio preview also comes from here.

What sources confirm — From the operator's (Saitama Prefecture Park Green Association) 34 per-entrance vector seat-guide PDFs we read every chair symbol and the seat numbers at the row ends, rebuilding the rows of 62,783 seats. Overlapping PDFs were aligned so that rows with the same numbers sit seat on seat (zero offset); the main and back stands, and the north and south stands, are drawn identically under a 180° rotation and were joined the same way. Scale and stand positions follow the official 105 × 68 m pitch and the operator pamphlet's 14 m from the main stand front to the touchline and 19 m from the south stand front to the goal line, with the side stand ends and the main and back lower stand ends one ordinary stair aisle (1.53 m) apart at all four corners. This gives a row pitch of 0.85 m and a seat pitch of 0.45 m, matching the 0.86 m treads in the pamphlet section. Heights of main lower rows 1–18 follow that section (first-row floor 0.82 m, 0.25 m risers). Blocks are sections split by stairs and cross aisles; the numbers in their names are the seat-number ranges on the drawings, and the cheering zones follow the Urawa Red Diamonds' official seat map.

What remains estimated — The operator's website refused connections from our build environment, so we used Internet Archive copies of the same official URLs (hashes recorded). The 2022 file for entrance 204 is truncated in the archive, so its 2016 version is used; the 2022 file for entrance 203 has 130 fewer seats than its 2016 version, so the area around 204 may differ by a similar amount. No seats are shared between stands, so the scale relies on the corner aisle assumption (±1.6% for half to two aisles), and the two halves of the main and back stands were joined on the rule that each block turns by the same angle (another method differs by 0.45 m). The upper tiers share no seats with the lower bowl and were placed one aisle clear of the side stands at the corners; their plan position may be a few metres off. Heights other than main lower rows 1–18 (floors 5.6, 11.5, 17.5 and 23.6 m; risers 0.30, 0.32, 0.42 and 0.45 m) are estimates allowing for continuous sightlines, and the top row is about 40 m up. The upper-tier front floor was raised by 1.5 m after back-solving the camera position of four club and operator seat-view photos (remaining differences: main +1.4 m, back −0.5 to −1.3 m; the south corner of the main upper tier may be several metres lower than in the photos). The blocks above the tunnels at the two main-lower corners sit at the same height as the blocks beside them, following the row numbers on the drawing (rows 14–18); the front part of the back lower stand ended up about 0.5 m higher than the main one when heights were joined across neighbouring blocks (the same section is assumed). Row labels read unreliably in some PDFs, so they are not in the block names; rows and numbers inside a block are examples (row seat counts match the drawings for 85% of rows, and 99% within one seat). Press seats (P1–P7), unnumbered rows, bent single rows, the 150 wheelchair spaces and the sky boxes are not modelled. The large roofs are drawn over the main and back stands only, and there are no light towers because the lights are on the roof. The visitor-seat boundary comes from a schematic seat map and may be one block off; it can change from match to match. The roof and sound are model assumptions.

Views are calculated using a 1.75 m figure, your chosen eye height and seat coordinates. Actual obstructions from people, railings or equipment and show-specific layouts may not be represented. Sound samples compare the direction and distance of instruments, speakers and crowds. They do not reproduce the venue’s actual sound quality or reverberation. Scores indicate preference fit; actual obstructions, sound quality and price are not yet included.

Orchestral audio: original samples made from VSCO 2 CE recordings (Versilian Studios, CC0). Band and game sounds are synthesized. Crowd audio uses Sandermotions’ CC0 recordings, not recordings from this venue.
