Direct sound is combined with early reflections and reverberation. Their proportions change with the seat. This is a synthesis based on assumptions, not a recording of the actual hall.
Acoustic sources and model scope
Ensemble listening estimates direct sound from five equally loud representative instruments plus early and late reflected energy. It does not trace individual wall reflections or measure sound on site. Playback uses the same energy model, but the samples' instrumentation and volume differ from the equal-strength scoring assumption. Changing a sample does not change the recommendation criteria.

We also check score variation under nine assumptions: reverberation time ±0.4 seconds and volume ±20%. Balcony obstruction, reflector placement, and instrument directivity are not included. Scores cannot rank sound quality across venues.

The 2016 report gives a 500 Hz reverberation time of 2.9 seconds measured empty and 2.7 seconds calculated fully occupied. These are hall-wide figures, not values for an individual seat or current performance.

How this experience was built
What sources confirm — From acoustic designer Nagata Acoustics’ Lotte Concert Hall project sheet, we read 2,024 seat positions from the seat-level plan and floor heights from its longitudinal section (20 m scale bar). The section covers axial terraces: 23 rows at 1F front/middle/rear, eight at 2F rear, and six in P behind the stage. Block names, numbering direction and seats per row were aligned with the official plan (1F 1,538; 2F 498). Seats per row match for 1F C/B/D/P and all 2F blocks.
What remains estimated — Side-terrace heights (L/R/LP/RP and 2F L/R) are absent from the section and were estimated from adjacent terraces and official seat VR photos. 2F L/R/E show low walls and open safety rails seen in official VR, but heights, thicknesses and post spacing are approximate. LP/RP/A/L use the design plan’s row arrangement, so rows and seat counts differ slightly from the official seating plan (LP 181 versus about 195 official seats). The 22 wheelchair spaces are excluded.
Views are calculated using a 1.75 m figure, your chosen eye height and seat coordinates. Actual obstructions from people, railings or equipment and show-specific layouts may not be represented. Orchestral sound combines direction, distance and assumed early reflections and reverberation. It does not use responses measured in the actual hall. Scores indicate preference fit; actual obstructions, sound quality and price are not yet included.
